About the Role

As an Account Executive at AMCS, you will be responsible for driving net new business growth by helping mid-market organizations solve complex operational and sustainability challenges through our SaaS solutions. You will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and qualification through to close—while building trusted relationships with key stakeholders.

This role requires a consultative seller who can uncover customer needs, align solutions to business outcomes, and confidently navigate both virtual and in-person engagements with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive New Business Growth
Own and expand net new logo acquisition within your assigned territory

  • Territory & Pipeline Management
Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to build and maintain a high-quality pipeline that meets and exceeds quota

  • Full-Cycle Sales Execution
Lead opportunities from prospecting through close, including discovery, solution positioning, negotiation, and deal execution

  • Customer Engagement
Conduct consultative engagements via phone, video, and in-person meetings to understand customer goals and challenges

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing, Business Development, and Sales Engineering to drive demand, deliver impactful demos, and align solutions to customer needs

  • Solution Alignment
Translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value for a range of stakeholders

  • Sales Operations & Forecasting
Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and activity tracking within Salesforce

  • Continuous Improvement
Contribute to team best practices and support broader sales initiatives as needed

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of quota-carrying experience selling complex, mid-market SaaS solutions (e.g., ERP or platform-based systems) with a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding targets

  • Proven success managing full sales cycles and closing deals in both virtual and in-person environments

  • Strong prospecting skills, including cold outreach across multiple channels

  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions in a clear, compelling way to diverse audiences

  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time effectively

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
