Who are you? A driven sales executive responsible for managing the entire software sales life cycle from beginning to end.  This includes prospecting, identifying needs, delivering presentations, defining solutions, drafting proposals, and managing and growing our relationships with both prospects and existing customers in the re/insurance industry for the North America territory. You should be intellectually curious and able to learn the key scientific tenants and statistics that underpin our probabilistic models, as well as the software applications on which to access the models, and understand how to help our clients by familiarizing yourself with their business needs. You must be sales-driven, innovative, and have a strong focus on delivering exceptional value for customers.  You know how to identify decision makers, influencers, and blockers thereby navigating a complex enterprise sales cycle to successfully grow your account base and annual revenue under management. 

You will be part of a Boston-based sales team for Verisk Catastrophe and Risk Solutions (CRS).  Verisk CRS (formerly AIR Worldwide) provides catastrophe risk modeling solutions that make individuals, businesses, and society more resilient. We founded the catastrophe modeling industry in 1987, and today model the risk from natural catastrophes, terrorism, and casualty risk. Insurance, reinsurance, financial, corporate, and government clients rely on Verisk’s advanced science, software, and consulting services for catastrophe risk management, insurance-linked securities, site-specific engineering analyses, and agricultural risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively prospect, identify and drive sales opportunities through a typically complex enterprise sales cycle, from first contact to closure

  • Use your personable nature to build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers

  • Leverage your superior communication skills to develop & deliver proposals and presentations for prospects and customers

  • Set quarterly and yearly goals for each of the accounts under your management, keeping track of activities within our CRM system

  • Travel to select re/insurance companies and represent Verisk at industry conferences in North America (10-20% of the time) 

Qualifications
  • Experience
    • 3+ years of experience selling complex enterprise software solutions, ideally in the insurance industry, in a closing role (SaaS or On-premise solutions) 
    • Experience working for a carrier in the P&C Insurance Industry is a plus
    • Knowledge of catastrophe modeling is a plus
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree required (Science, Math, or Engineering preferred) 
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a plus
  • Location
    • Ability to come into Boston office 1-2 days per week is preferred
    • Open to fully remote position for the right qualified candidate
