Job overview  

As a Vice President, Account Executive on the Americas International Team, you will be a strategic and motivated sales leader responsible for driving growth across a diverse and dynamic client base—including institutional investors, asset managers, and service providers—primarily in Brazil and across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada. Portuguese proficiency is strongly preferred given the role’s focus on Brazil, though not required. You will lead the full sales cycle, identifying, developing, and closing new subscription agreements with some of the most reputable firms in the market, while also managing and expanding existing client relationships. You will take full ownership of your territory and client segment, executing strategic account plans and delivering against ambitious growth targets. The role requires you to successfully retain and grow existing account revenue while driving sales agendas and meeting or exceeding monthly net sales quotas, all while representing Preqin, a part of BlackRock, and contributing to the broader mission of empowering the global financial community through data and technology. 

In this role you will:  

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders across BlackRock teams to approach clients as “One BlackRock,” ensuring unified, strategic engagement and maximizing client impact. 

  • Manage the sales process from beginning to end, securing introductions with decision makers while providing support to users, achieving, and surpassing your sales quota. 

  • Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities within a defined sales territory; this includes new prospective customers and within an existing customer base. 

  • Provide prospective new business clients with an understanding of Preqin’s products and offerings while developing new relationships with key stakeholders at each firm. 

  • Manage all aspects of the renewal cycle for our client’s subscription relationships, with a focus on expansion opportunities within accounts and subscription renewals. This includes proactive and consultative client support, ensuring high retention and net revenue growth.  

  • Provide clients and prospects with detailed proposals, product demonstrations, and consultations (in person preferred, or via phone). 

  • You will work collaboratively within a team environment to prioritize the interests of our customers and the firm; including but not limited to product, marketing, and close engagement with the commercial team – customer services, customer success and sales development.  

  • Provide actionable customer feedback to key stakeholders including, but not limited to, marketing, product development and research. 

  • Occasional travel to client sites/events/conferences within territory, as required. 

  • Accurately report internal administration: CRM activity log, sales pipeline forecasting, monthly reports to management, renewal planning and proposal preparation Build a strong working knowledge of competitive intelligence space and Preqin product positioning. 

  • Develop Preqin product, technical, and alternative investment market knowledge including passing CAIA fundamentals within 30-days. 

  • Present Preqin products and services to clients, peers, and key plans to management as it relates to performance and planning, including quarterly business planning.  

  • Meet and exceed sales KPI metrics including emails, calls, meetings, and demonstrations. 

Requirements: 

  • Five+ years of transferrable sales experience in an account management and/or new business role (in a similar discipline preferred: financial services, alternative investments, B2B SaaS sales, solution selling)  

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication  

  • Proven track record in hitting quota and retention targets.  

  • Organized, detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and respond quickly.  

  • Negotiation skills as it relates to renewal upsells, cross-selling, and additional product add-ons.  

  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite and CRM systems  

  • Working knowledge of the financial market data space, alternative assets, and financial services industries  

  • Sales motivated, team-focused attitude, and willingness to collaborate with peers, product management, and internal key constituents at the firm.  

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field required.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$147,500.00 - USD$195,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
