The Opportunity

Professional sports teams across MLS, NWSL, WNBA, CFL, USL, and junior hockey are evolving fast, and we're positioned to lead them. MLS teams are building out analytics departments, NWSL franchises are professionalizing operations, WNBA organizations are investing in performance infrastructure, and teams across CFL, USL, and junior hockey are hungry for technology that delivers results. We need an Account Executive who can own this entire vertical, managing renewals and upsells while identifying new opportunities, building relationships with teams, and positioning Teamworks as the operating system for professional sports organizations across these emerging markets.

You'll own existing partnerships while pioneering new opportunities with professional teams across multiple leagues. You'll be the face of Teamworks at MLS showcases, NWSL summits, and WNBA events. You'll build relationships with AGMs, performance directors, and decision-makers at teams across your territory. And you'll have the full product suite at your disposal (Operations, Performance, Intelligence, Personnel) to solve the real problems these teams face. You'll have the autonomy to shape how we grow in these markets and the opportunity to become the trusted partner for teams redefining their competitive edge.

What You'll Do
  • Own the complete sales cycle with professional teams across target leagues (MLS, NWSL, WNBA, CFL, USL) for all Teamworks products (Operations, Performance, Personnel, Coaching, and Intelligence)

  • Master internal sales fundamentals (Salesforce hygiene, proposal creation, agreement execution, pipeline management) and run these processes independently without oversight

  • Build and leverage a network with teams across target leagues to proactively identify opportunities, facilitate introductions, and accelerate deal cycles

  • Coordinate with product experts (Strength & Conditioning, AMS, Nutrition) while owning the overall customer relationship and aligning product conversations with renewal cycles

  • Represent Teamworks at major league events (MLS, NWSL, WNBA conferences) as the primary face of the organization in emerging professional sports markets

  • Position Intelligence and Personnel products as teams build out analytics capabilities, closing at least one Intelligence/Personnel deal by year-end

  • Proactively engage with teams across your territory to understand their analytics sophistication, technology stack, and readiness for Intelligence and Personnel solutions

  • Manage ARR and pipeline targets while positioning the company for aggressive expansion across emerging professional sports markets in year two

What You'll BringMust-haves:
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in managing sales fundamentals and CRM processes

  • Ability to independently own end-to-end sales cycles across multiple professional teams without requiring constant oversight

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with decision-makers at professional sports teams (AGMs, performance directors, analytics leaders)

  • Network within target leagues (particularly MLS, NWSL, WNBA, CFL, USL, and junior hockey organizations)

  • Demonstrated reliability in process execution (updating Salesforce, customizing approaches for client needs, and following through consistently)

Nice-to-haves:
  • Soccer background or MLS team network (especially valuable for Intelligence product expansion)

  • Women's sports background or relationships with WNBA, NWSL, or PWHL teams

  • Analytics or personnel analytics understanding (useful for Intelligence product positioning)

  • Prior sales experience in SaaS, sports tech, or professional athletics

  • Experience representing an organization at industry conferences and league events

Who Thrives Here

You stay on top of the details. Salesforce is always current, proposals go out on time, and follow-ups happen without reminders. You're not someone who needs to be managed; you manage yourself and your pipeline with precision. You see the big picture across multiple product lines and know how to align product conversations with team renewal cycles. You build genuine relationships with decision-makers at professional teams and leverage your network to create opportunities, not just wait for them. You're energized by owning relationships with teams across an entire vertical and representing Teamworks at major events as the primary face of the organization in emerging professional sports markets. You don't need prior sales experience to succeed. What matters is your organizational ability, your network, and your drive to execute sales fundamentals flawlessly. You're driven by results, energized by challenge, and aligned with our values: honesty, humility, hard work, commitment, innovation, and exceptionalism.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
