  • Partner with internal teams to design and deliver compelling proposals and solution offerings.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop campaigns, events, and content that drive awareness and demand for CRM services.
  • Represent the organization at higher education conferences, Slate events, and key industry gatherings to strengthen brand visibility and grow the network.
  • Contribute to overall company growth strategy, helping to define pricing models, sales tactics, and go-to-market strategies for CRM solutions.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of CRM trends, functionality, and higher education technology developments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sales experience selling CRMs in higher education.  Ideally, with Slate, Salesforce, Element 451, Ellucian CRM, and similar products.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, revenue generation, or business development for CRM, SaaS solutions, or other Ed Tech.
  • B2B sales of professional services to include implementation, training, support, advising, and apps.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar annual sales quotas.
  • Established network of higher education leaders, particularly in admissions, enrollment management, Student Success and advancement.
  • Proven success in identifying opportunities, managing complex sales cycles, and closing large deals.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to speak to both executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive results independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel to client sites and conferences.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
