SUMMARY

The Enterprise Account Executive is an experienced enterprise seller who drives new business with a high degree of independence and consistency. This role requires a consultative, insight-led sales approach - listening, uncovering challenges, and crafting solutions that deliver measurable impact. The ideal candidate consistently closes high-value SaaS deals, skillfully manages complex sales cycles, and reliably exceeds revenue targets. This includes strong experience with large multinational companies, sophisticated buying committees and buyer journeys, and proficient-to-advanced application of MEDDPICC and Challenger selling to drive predictable outcomes. The Account Executive operates autonomously across the full sales motion and begins to influence the broader team - sharing winning strategies and mentoring less-tenured Account Executives. The Enterprise Account Executive owns the primary relationship with prospective Avetta clients before and during their buyer journey. Once a prospect becomes a client, the Account Executive continues to manage and service the relationship until it is fully established, at which point it transitions to the Account Management Team. If residing within commutable distance to one of our offices, a hybrid schedule would be required (3 days in office, 2 days work from home).  Candidates within commutable distance are preferred, but those outside of an office area may be considered on a remote basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently drive new client acquisition by identifying and engaging enterprise prospects, building relationships with senior decision-makers, and developing strategies to grow Avetta's pipeline.
  • Own the full sales cycle end to end with minimal oversight - from prospecting and qualification through executive presentations, negotiations, and signed agreements - coordinating internal teams throughout.
  • Apply MEDDPICC and Challenger selling proficiently to qualify, shape, and advance complex opportunities and reframe buyer thinking.
  • Engage senior and executive-level stakeholders (including C-suite) to articulate Avetta's value in business and financial terms.
  • Maintain a weekly emphasis on business development initiatives to ensure consistent progress.
  • Consistently exceed revenue goals while maintaining a well-managed Salesforce pipeline and delivering accurate, timely forecasts to leadership.
  • Partner with and help direct an assigned Sales Development Representative to execute targeted prospecting strategies.
  • Represent Avetta at industry trade shows and engage in networking to build relationships and promote Avetta's solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive Avetta Overview Presentations and tailored Product Demonstrations online and in person.
  • Travel regularly to client sites and key accounts, plus sales events, conferences, and other client-facing engagements.
  • Provide essential support to new clients during the initial launch phase and throughout the first ninety days.
  • Serve as a peer resource - sharing best practices and mentoring Enterprise I Account Executives.
  • Actively participate in weekly 1-on-1 meetings and team calls, attend additional trainings as required, and adhere to other duties assigned.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • 5-8 years of SaaS sales experience, including solid enterprise-level SaaS sales experience.
  • Proficient-to-advanced application of MEDDPICC; working command of Challenger selling.
  • Experience selling safety-related products or services, working with contractors, working in procurement, or working in an industry that Avetta has current customers is considered a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills for significant travel, meeting coordination, and complex RFP/RFI/RFQ management.
  • Superior communication - exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, tailored to senior audiences.
  • Strong public speaking and executive presence - able to lead high-stakes presentations with clarity and poise.
  • Self-directed - able to set strategy and drive deals to close with minimal supervision.
  • Technical understanding - able to translate SaaS functionality and solution value to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ethical - embodies Avetta's core values of honesty and integrity.

OTHER DESIRED TRAITS:

  • Excellent time management, technical proficiency (CRM/Salesforce), strategic problem-solving, attention to detail, adaptability, and a willingness to coach peers.

At Avetta, we are committed to salary transparency to ensure equitable hiring practices and promote trust. What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
