Benchmark and Reference data system is used as a repository for composite data received from suppliers for various indices. As a member of the data processing team, the Senior Application Developer owns, creates, and delivers technology solutions for benchmark and Reference data systems. Benchmark and Reference data system is the repository for composite data received from suppliers for various indices and securities utilized in various applications. The data managed in these systems provides direct and critical input for the portfolio construction process and implementation of investment strategy. At the core of the system is a technology called Abinitio ,Market EDM and Java and custom scripting which are highly specialized information technology platforms to process composite data and provide API’s, web interface using J2EE technologies. He/she is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the data in RITS Benchmark and Market Data Framework applications, as the majority of trading decisions are determined by the change in the construction of the market index/or the weight of a security in that index.

Specific duties of the Senior Application Developer position include:

  • Possesses high level technical skill and expertise in relation to building complex investment data management systems.
  • Work with different teams onshore and offshore to develop and implement the overall concepts of the project.
  • Be able to design, develop and document complex data workflow in a hands-on fashion.
  • Support and enhance the technical infrastructure and functionality of Benchmark and reference data platform.
  • Possess a good understanding of the investment management industry related to securities and Benchmark data.
  • Required to work on issues with incomplete problem definition and requirements.
  • Should have experience with market data vendor feeds.
  • Work with the MDS team to deliver key initiatives.
  • Employ his/her experience with Agile SDLC, specifically iteration through problem definition and requirements.
  • Manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, and/or activities.
  • Provide production support of the Benchmark and Reference data systems on a rotation basis.
  • Expertise in ETL platform (Abinitio and Market EDM) , Java and DB skills is a must.
  • Data modeling and Unix shell scripting /Perl/python is a must. 

Required Skills:

5 years of related experience must include

  • 2 to 3 years of Abinitio preferred or comparable ETL platform with hands on experience.
  • 2 years of Market EDM ( Cadis v19)
  • 2 to 3 years Strong (Sybase and Oracle database skills. Should be proficient in writing large and complex stored procedures.
  • 2 years of J2EE (Java, java script, JSP, HTML5, CSS ,Struts and Spring MVC frame works, EJB) experience is required.
  • 2 years of Jboss, WebLogic App servers and  Apache webserver.
  • 2 Years of data modeling.
  • 3 years of shell scripting.
  • Demonstrate ability to own and drive tasks/assignments while collaborating with peers and other Technology teams.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn new business concepts and technologies quickly.
  • Track record of persistence and an ability to innovate and get things done.
  • Should be a self-starter.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $142,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
