The Baseball Operations Associate will support various projects and tasks within the Red Sox Baseball Operations department, focusing on administrative duties, strategic initiatives, and logistics for events.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Baseball Operations Associate program offers hands-on experience across the Red Sox Baseball Operations department. Each Associate will contribute meaningfully to one primary area within the Acquisitions or Baseball Administration & Strategy domains, while supporting department-wide initiatives and projects. This role is designed to build a strong foundation throughout baseball operations, combining curriculum and project-based education, day-to-day project and task execution, and exposure to decision-making processes at the highest level of the game. Prior baseball experience is not mandatory for success in this role.
Timeline: This program begins in January 2026 or June 2026, depending on candidate availability, and runs through October 31st, 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with day-to-day operations for primary department, including administrative duties, strategic initiatives, logistical management, and research projects.
- Prepare and maintain information and materials, including player research for key front office decision-making and operation.
- Creatively pursue ways to improve internal processes, while generating ideas for future team projects.
- Support video, data, and technology management and operation.
- Provide strategic and logistical support for important events such as the MLB Draft, Trade Deadline, free agency, and salary arbitration.
- Develop core and domain-specific baseball operations competencies through hands-on experience, tailored education, and mentorship.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to multitask in stressful situations.
- Experience with SQL, R, Python is a plus, but not required.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
- Prior baseball or sport experience is not required.
- Valid Driver’s License preferred.
