Your Responsibilities
As a Staff Software Engineer (CA) for John Deere in Chicago, IL, you will:
  • Develop, code, configure, and test programs and systems;
  • evaluate and implement enhancement design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of software applications;
  • analyze assignments and determine software specifications that must be fulfilled to achieve objectives;
  • collaborate with other relevant stakeholders and team members to ensure that features meet business needs;
  • follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation;
  • execute necessary documentation as needed;
  • mentor junior software engineers within the team and across multiple products;
  • and lead engineering practices alongside engineering manager.
  • 20% international and domestic travel required.

What Skills You Need
  • 7 years of experience in architecture, design and implementation of event driven applications using required AWS technology ECS, S3, SQS, SNS, and Kinesis to master principals of scalability and performance
  • 7 years of experience in RESTful API design and implementation, deep understanding of rest principals modeling, required expertise with OpenAPI and Swagger including experience in Frameworks Spring, HAPI.js, Oauth 2.0, and API security by design best practices
  • 7 years of experience in database design and implementation of entity relationship, design, monitoring and maintenance and experience in PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and DB2 Optimization
  • 7 years of experience in proficient in python, Java, JavaScript, React, and Spring Framework to conduct multi-threading, best design patterns, and optimization
  • 7 years of experience in proficient in CI/CD best practices and implementation of pipeline infrastructure, automated testing, dev ops skills utilizing Terraform, Drone.io, and Github actions

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology or related field plus 7 years related experience.
