The 1031 Exchange Business Development Officer drives business development, manages client relationships, and grows revenue through new opportunities in the 1031 Exchange market.
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The 1031 Exchange Business Development Officer is responsible for business development for the Northern 1031 Exchange and Northern Realty platforms by identifying and pursuing opportunities with existing Northern Bank clients and non-clients.

The 1031 Exchange Business Development Officer is responsible for business development for the Northern 1031 Exchange and Northern Realty platforms by identifying and pursuing opportunities with existing Northern Bank clients and non-clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual deposit and revenue related goals established in the annual budgeting process
- Grow 1031 business by developing new clients and new business opportunities and leverage existing networks
- Build portfolio of local and national clients, manage relationships and drive strong client satisfaction
- Attend industry specific trade shows, conferences, and seminars. Night and weekend work and travel may be required
- Actively solicit CPA firms, Law Firms and Real Estate Agencies to establish relationships, and set Northern as Qualified Intermediary of choice
- Set up on site, in-house or virtual appointments, classes and webinars for center of influences. CE credit offered for accredited schools
- Answering all calls and emails in a timely manner. Some nights, weekends and holidays will be required
- Identify any potential cross selling opportunities to Northern Realty for broker’s referral fees, Northern Financial or Asset Strategy for DST sales, Northern Bank Commercial Loan team and Northern Home Loan
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA/CES preferred
- 10+ years in sales and marketing experience in real estate or 1031 Exchange industry
- Basic understanding of 1031 Exchange tax code
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; well organized
- Massachusetts Real Estate Agent license
The salary range for this position is $140000 - $185000 per year.
