Who We Are Looking For 

Phoenix Tailings is looking for a Vice President of Capital Markets to build and lead the financial engine behind the scale up of clean critical metals production. This role will directly shape how capital is raised, deployed, and optimized across complex industrial and energy infrastructure projects. The right candidate will bring deep experience in structured finance, project finance, and commodity or energy markets, and will translate that expertise into actionable strategies that accelerate our path to commercial scale and global impact. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structuring and execution of project finance, structured equity, and debt transactions to fund new production facilities and expansion initiatives  
  • Design and implement financial strategies for large scale industrial projects including valuation, capital stack optimization, and risk allocation  
  • Build and oversee financial models tied to commodity markets, pricing dynamics, and long-term offtake agreements  
  • Develop and execute capital markets strategy including relationships with banks, private equity, infrastructure funds, an strategic investors  
  • Structure and negotiate commercial agreements such as offtake, tolling, and supply agreements that underpin revenue generation  
  • Establish risk management frameworks tied to commodity exposure, input costs, and market volatility  
  • Drive financial planning and analysis tied directly to plant economics, scaling timelines, and operational performance  
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate M&A, joint ventures, and strategic investments that accelerate growth

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in project finance, structured finance, or capital markets within energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors 
  • Proven track record structuring and closing complex financing transactions across debt, equity, and hybrid instruments 
  • Deep understanding of commodity markets, derivatives, and risk management frameworks  
  • Experience building and operating detailed financial models tied to large scale infrastructure or production assets 
  • Strong background negotiating commercial agreements such as offtake, hedging structures, or long-term supply contracts 
  • Experience working with institutional investors, lenders, and capital providers in high growth or capital-intensive environments 
  • Ability to translate market dynamics and financial strategy into actionable execution plans for scaling operations  

We offer a competitive compensation package that is based on expertise. We also offer the following benefits:

    This pay range reflects best estimate for the total cash compensation which includes salary + discretionary bonus for this role. Total package may vary based on experience and qualifications.
     
    Pay Range: $250,000- $350,000 total cash compensation plus equity
