Designs, programs, installs, modifies, and repairs electrical control systems and manufacturing automation. Develops schematics, PLC/HMI programs, technical calculations, equipment scopes, and acceptance criteria. Collaborates with SCADA and MES vendors, IT, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to improve equipment reliability, product quality, process yield, and data management. Requires an electrical engineering degree or equivalent automation technician experience and at least five years in manufacturing.

Drives manufacturing process improvements focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and equipment performance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting production equipment, designing and commissioning new machinery, developing equipment criteria, coordinating with operators and multidisciplinary engineering teams, evaluating suppliers, preparing estimates and schedules, and supervising contractors. The role operates in a capital-intensive metals manufacturing environment and requires compliance with applicable safety codes and export-control regulations.

Leads marketing strategy and business development for Materion’s semiconductor sector. Develops market insights, identifies growth opportunities, builds OEM and technology-partner relationships, guides new product and application development, and translates customer requirements into manufacturable products. Oversees early qualification, application testing, technical discussions, product launches, and cross-functional execution while providing executive-level market updates and external industry representation.

Coordinates manufacturing inventory tracking, replenishment, physical counts, discrepancy reconciliation, production order monitoring, SAP transactions, scrap processing, consumable purchasing, and toll processing with external vendors. Maintains accurate inventory and SAP records, supports production control corrective actions, and monitors material weights and transaction accuracy. Requires manufacturing experience, SAP or inventory-management experience, computer proficiency, English fluency, and export-compliance eligibility for access to controlled U.S. technology.

Provide lab support across analytical and quality functions: prioritize and prepare samples, enter and report data, use SAP/QMS/Excel for certifications and inventory, manage equipment calibration, assist shipments, generate non-conformance reports, and support training and safety checks to maintain uninterrupted lab operations.

Maintain and support server infrastructure and cloud environments (Office 365/Azure). Administer Windows servers, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, IIS, VMware, MECM/Intune, and application licensing. Provide 24x7 on-call troubleshooting, hardware/software installs, PC imaging, documentation, and process improvements to ensure performance and security.

Manage accounting for the Newton plant including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, forecasts and budgets, inventory cycle counts, cost analysis, support audits and SOX compliance, and partner on SAP and Power BI projects to drive cost reductions and process improvements.

Manage and grow key semiconductor accounts by selling PVD electronic materials. Develop account plans, build pipeline, conduct technical discussions, forecast in CRM, collaborate with internal teams, negotiate contracts, and travel extensively to support customers and drive revenue.
