Leads mechanical design and product development for robotic and medical device systems. Designs complex mechanisms, flexible instruments, precision assemblies, and electromechanical components; evaluates existing designs for performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability improvements. Provides technical leadership to engineering technicians, manages project priorities and deliverables, collaborates across disciplines, and supports prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, verification, validation, and commercialization.

Designs and optimizes FPGA configurations and IP cores for camera and vision systems used in robotics. Responsibilities include implementing signal-processing algorithms in Verilog, verifying designs through simulation, integrating embedded software and third-party IP, optimizing timing and resource utilization, and troubleshooting hardware in a hands-on laboratory environment.

Develops mechanical engineering solutions for products, parts, and assemblies. Creates CAD models, production documentation, and designs using DFM, DFA, and DFQ principles. Performs modeling, simulation, measurement, and design research; supports fabrication, prototyping, quality, and continuous improvement. Reviews peer work, mentors junior staff, manages deliverables, presents to clients, and contributes to scope, schedule, and cost management.
