Paid hybrid news internship supporting GBH News’ In Common show. The intern will pitch editorial ideas, book and pre-interview guests, write scripts, prepare recording sessions, edit radio and podcast segments, maintain music logs, upload podcasts, and promote content on social media. The role provides newsroom experience in local journalism, audio production, interviewing, and editorial collaboration.

Reports and writes GBH News digital stories, ranging from breaking news to features and investigations. Pitches and researches weekly story ideas, works on deadline, collaborates with radio and video teams, and incorporates editorial feedback. Requires strong, accurate writing, basic reporting and AP Style knowledge, curiosity, independence, time management, U.S. work authorization, enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, and access to a computer and Wi-Fi.

Paid part-time internship supporting GBH News Rooted digital and video content. Responsibilities include researching and pitching stories, scripting, fact-checking, organizing production materials, editing video in Adobe Premiere Pro, contributing to team meetings, and managing digital assets, transcripts, and metadata. The role emphasizes accurate writing, collaborative storytelling, inclusive representation, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced public media environment.
