What's the Company Culture Like at Enova?
Enova Employee Perspectives
Why did Enova recognize you as a top performer, and how has your work impacted the company?
I made an impact across multiple channels. This included building a new marketing attribution model and helping optimize our data pipeline to be closer to real time. These efforts provided clearer insights into marketing efficiency and directly contributed to performance gains, especially in our paid search channels. Throughout, I stayed closely aligned with Enova’s five values, especially “Operate as an Owner,” by proactively identifying opportunities, driving solutions end-to-end and ensuring long-term impact for the business.
How did Enova celebrate your achievements?
I really appreciate how consistently and thoughtfully the company recognizes impact. I was recognized during a companywide meeting, received shoutouts in both department and business unit meetings, and was also highlighted in our internal Slack channels. It’s meaningful to see that kind of appreciation come from multiple levels and functions, as it reinforces that the work matters. Awards are given out each quarter to recognize employees for exhibiting Enova’s values through their work. The winners receive exclusive Enova swag and a bonus.
How has this recognition made you feel more connected to your work and Enova as a whole?
The recognition has been a big motivator; it has made me feel genuinely valued and given me the confidence to speak up in meetings, even in front of senior leadership. At Enova, our core value, “Best Answer Wins,” truly applies to everyone, no matter your level. When you bring forward a strong idea, you’re often trusted to run with it and are recognized for the results. That kind of culture makes it easy to stay engaged and push yourself, especially when tackling complex or high-impact projects.

Describe Enova’s company culture in one word. What made you pick that word?
“Determined.” Our team is relentlessly focused on achieving excellence while fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation. This determination enables us to solve both immediate challenges and future opportunities. We’re committed to empowering small business owners by helping them access the funding they need — whether it’s bridging cash flow gaps, investing in new equipment or scaling for their next growth phase.
For instance, our team is actively working to provide customers with tailored content and a simplified journey to securing the capital they need to grow their business. As a result of our collaboration across teams and testing of new approaches, customers are more seamlessly starting their application process, which means they’re able to more efficiently get the funding they need and get back to focusing on their business. This relentless focus on solving tough challenges and enhancing the customer journey embodies the determined spirit of our culture.
How long have you been with Enova, and what professional growth or development have you seen in that time?
I’ve been with Enova for four months, and the growth and learning have been incredibly rapid. I’m fortunate to be supported by a CMO and small business leadership team who make themselves highly available, offering invaluable historical insights while remaining forward-focused on growth. Their approach fosters an environment where I’m encouraged to explore new opportunities, channels and approaches and tackle challenges head-on. This has been critical in my development with the team.
In this short time, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the unique gaps and opportunities within the small business lending space. I’m particularly focused on identifying the key obstacles small business owners face when trying to access funding to grow, and how we can better support them — no matter the stage of their journey. For example, during sales call shadowing, I learned firsthand how critical speed and clarity are in the decision-making process for small business owners seeking funding. This has anchored the voice of our customers in my mind, broadened my perspective and made me even more passionate about helping their businesses succeed.

Enova’s culture emphasizes balance and flexibility, with perks like Summer Fridays giving team members time to recharge and enjoy life outside of work.
“There are many great perks, but my favorite perk is Summer Fridays! If all work for the week is wrapped up by 2:00 PM on Fridays during the summer we get to sign off early to enjoy the summer sun. The extra weekend time during the summer is great for exploring, spending time outside, or taking a weekend trip.”

A people-first culture at Enova shows up through manager-led support, responsive action planning and a continued focus on improving the employee experience.
“People and Talent are here to help provide guidance and support, but our managers really drive the action steps for their teams. This people-first approach continues to deliver a positive measurable impact with our engagement scores steadily climbing over the last 2 years and sitting at 69% now — much higher than the national average of about 30%.”
Name a recent decision that clearly reflected your values. What changed as a result?
Enova has a strong set of values. Two I identify closely with are “best answer wins” and “top talent and teamwork.” On the marketing team, we’re constantly iterating and optimizing based on the latest campaign data. I appreciate the constant learning that takes place. Upon assessing the mail program when I started, I noticed an opportunity to market our products more effectively in our direct mail letters, built a data-driven case for it and led the transition and implementation of the new strategy. It had a game-changing impact on response. And while I’m proud of it being the “best answer,” a multi-team effort pushed it across the finish line.
What habit keeps cross-team work moving — and how do you track its effect?
I approach cross-team work as a partnership. I collaborate cross-functionally daily and believe everyone wins when Enova wins. Before I ask another team for support, I learn their needs, constraints and priorities. This fosters a partnership built on trust and mutual respect, enabling us to focus on finding the best answer. Once we’ve landed a win, I make sure to acknowledge everyone involved. That recognition inspires us for the next challenge and creates a sense of camaraderie.
How do you make recognition fair and visible — and what metric proves it works?
Enova has a great internal recognition platform called Spotlight. When a colleague goes above and beyond, I leverage Spotlight to thank that individual with points while sharing their accomplishment and impact with the broader team. That visibility sets a clear bar for what great work looks like and gives credit where it’s earned.
We’re a company with incredibly talented people, so we find wins every day. Every now and then, though, someone’s work stands out enough to earn special recognition. Enova’s executive team presents awards, including the Quarterly Values Awards, which recognize employees whose recent work has best embodied each of Enova’s five core values. Winners receive exclusive swag and a bonus and the person whose efforts best exemplifies our values throughout the year earns the annual All-Star Values Award, which comes with a larger bonus. I earned a Quarterly Values Award and that recognition reinforced that living our values isn’t just something Enova talks about; it is something peers and managers see and reward.
