Investigates, evaluates, and settles complex workers’ compensation claims. Determines coverage, liability, compensability, reserves, payments, subrogation, and recovery opportunities. Coordinates investigations and litigation strategy with legal counsel, prepares claims reports, participates in reviews, and ensures timely, equitable settlements within authority limits. Provides training and mentorship to new hires while managing claims independently and applying sound judgment to unusual or difficult cases.

Responsibilities include interpreting policy coverage, determining liability, setting reserves, authorizing payments, negotiating settlements, managing litigation strategy with counsel, identifying recovery opportunities, preparing reports, and participating in claim reviews. The role also mentors new hires and supports team development. Licensing is required, along with 4–8 years of claims investigation and settlement experience.

Processes payroll data, wage payments, garnishments, special checks, tax and unemployment filings, and new-hire paperwork. Audits time entries, updates employee payroll information, reconciles payroll-related accounts, prepares management reports, and maintains tax and W-2 records. Communicates with employees, payroll vendors, and taxing authorities to resolve issues and prevent penalties. This routine support role operates under close supervision and requires accuracy, organization, and payroll or accounting experience.
