Manages the evaluation, implementation, integration, testing, maintenance, and improvement of the City’s HRIS. Administers system access, database integrity, upgrades, reporting, security, and vendor issue resolution. Develops training materials, conducts employee training, supports users, and recommends system enhancements. Partners with HR and City staff on requirements, customizations, user acceptance testing, compliance, and technology best practices.

Administers employee benefits for active, school, city, and retired employees. Processes enrollments, eligibility changes, cancellations, COBRA, invoices, payroll deductions, vendor submissions, and HRIS updates. Responds to employee inquiries, maintains confidential records and tracking spreadsheets, supports the MBTA pass program, and assists with RFPs and procedure documentation. Requires benefits administration and HRIS experience, strong Excel skills, accuracy, organization, communication, and customer service.

Provides administrative and case management support for municipal legal and immigration services. Maintains case logs, processes intake documentation, schedules appointments, coordinates client and provider communications, prepares outreach materials and reports, and supports community workshops, presentations, tabling, and other engagement activities. Requires discretion with confidential information and may involve evening or weekend outreach.

Supports year-round recreational programs for youth, adults, seniors, and diverse community members. Assists with sports, arts, STEM, music, drama, DJ, teen center, and special event activities. Guides participants, explains safety requirements, helps set up and break down facilities, organizes supplies and equipment, reports concerns, and collaborates with Parks and Recreation staff. This is a part-time seasonal role requiring evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

Coordinates Health and Human Services procurement projects with centralized procurement staff; develops bid and contract documentation, evaluates bids and proposals, analyzes spending and market trends, manages procurement timelines and records, supports vendor and contract management, investigates complaints and public records requests, and trains staff on compliant purchasing practices.

Directs the municipal Inspectional Services Division, overseeing inspectors and administrative staff responsible for building-code enforcement, permitting, inspections, records, and related regulations. Manages strategic planning, policies, budgets, staffing, training, compliance, software optimization, and cross-department initiatives. Represents the Division before city officials, residents, contractors, and public groups; addresses complex enforcement matters and advises senior city leadership on code, permitting, inspection, and public-safety issues.

Manages large municipal infrastructure improvement projects from planning and design through construction completion. Oversees scope, schedules, budgets, consultants, contractors, procurement, permitting, regulatory compliance, safety inspections, public engagement, and stakeholder coordination. Projects include utility improvements, pipeline rehabilitation, streetscape, and stormwater work. Supervises project staff, supports capital planning and reporting, presents to public officials, and coordinates with agencies, utilities, developers, and community groups.

Oversees municipal HR operations, including benefits administration, employee lifecycle processing, HR systems, reporting, compliance, payroll support, vendor coordination, and office administration. Supervises HR staff, manages benefits and regulatory filings, audits records and reconciliations, supports technology improvements, and implements process enhancements. The role also coordinates orientation, retirement seminars, employee engagement initiatives, procurement, and stakeholder communications while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.

Supports day-to-day human resources operations for a municipal government, including policy implementation, regulatory compliance, employee relations, payroll and budget functions, leave administration, onboarding, personnel transactions, I-9 audits, records management, unemployment compensation, and public-facing assistance. Coordinates civil service hiring processes, maintains HR data, supports managers and employees, and oversees seasonal and part-time staff.

Provides independent municipal legal counsel to the City, including civil litigation, labor and employment matters, contracts, public records, legislation, procurement, ethics, and regulatory compliance. Represents the City before courts, boards, commissions, and agencies; drafts pleadings, ordinances, contracts, and legal documents; negotiates settlements; advises officials and departments; supervises support staff; and supports the City Solicitor as needed.

Oversees year-round parks and recreation programming for children, adults, and seniors. Supervises recreation counselors and aides, supports scheduling and coverage, monitors facility safety, coordinates event setup and cleanup, communicates with participants and stakeholders, and promotes an inclusive environment. The role requires conflict resolution, de-escalation, record management, public interaction, and occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work.

Facilitates and leads seasonal recreational programs in areas such as sports, arts, music, academics, and STEAM. Applies prior knowledge and experience in a relevant field while working up to 19 hours per week. The role is safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of pre-employment drug screening.

Assists with daily operations at a school-based fabrication lab by managing phone inquiries, tracking member usage, supporting open shop sessions, classes, and events, and helping with setup and cleanup. Responsibilities also include responding to emails, posting on the website and social media, assisting with reports, and helping visitors access the space.
