Teams at Chainguard

Lead the strategy, architecture, and operation of Chainguard’s database platform. Build production tooling and automated guardrails; improve replication, high availability, backups, disaster recovery, migrations, capacity planning, and global database resilience. Assess risks across existing systems, establish standards and governance, write production code, and lead cross-functional initiatives across engineering teams. The role requires deep PostgreSQL and MySQL expertise, cloud infrastructure experience, Linux and Go proficiency, and staff-level technical leadership.

Lead a 15-person Container Product Engineering team building hardened container images, registry services, build systems, adoption tooling, and compliance features. Own team outcomes, hiring, coaching, roadmap execution, technical quality, delivery, planning, and cross-functional collaboration. Remain hands-on through code and design reviews while guiding AI-native engineering practices. The role partners with product and platform teams and offers a path toward broader Director-level scope.

Own recruiting operations systems, workflows, vendor relationships, and data governance while managing recruiting coordinators. Partner with HR Technology, Legal, People Operations, and Talent Acquisition to configure integrations, automate processes, improve recruiting infrastructure, deliver actionable insights, and ensure compliance across a distributed organization.
