Teams at Boston Public Health Commission

Coordinates and evaluates recovery specialist programming for people with substance use disorders. Provides peer recovery support, referrals, treatment navigation, overdose prevention training, safety planning, intake assistance, documentation, and participant advocacy. Collaborates with healthcare providers, treatment programs, hospitals, community agencies, and public-sector partners. Monitors program compliance and participant progress, prepares reports, supports grant and fiscal activities, represents the organization in the community, and may supervise employees.

Provides outreach, case management, advocacy, referrals, transportation, and recovery support to Boston residents with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs. Assesses clients, coordinates treatment access, monitors progress, maintains records, facilitates communication with providers, conducts overdose prevention training, and represents the department in community settings. Also supports office operations, reporting, grant preparation, meetings, program compliance, and health-equity initiatives.

Supports Boston EMS financial management, including budgeting, procurement, public bids, contracts, grants, payroll, accounts payable, vendor payments, financial records, and audits. Supervises and mentors staff, ensures compliance with BPHC policies, coordinates with vendors and internal departments, and maintains accurate fiscal reporting. The role also supports equitable procurement, grant administration, and health equity initiatives.
