These Tech Companies Announced New Boston Headquarters in 2023

Known for robotics and biotechnology, the Boston tech sector has recently come to house innovations across a vast range of sectors. Companies from across the nation are gathering in this East Coast tech hub to build out the next stage of their business and expand their presence within a promising locale for growth. Read on to learn which names are putting down roots in Boston with new headquarters in 2023. This article will be updated throughout the year.

    European toy manufacturing giant LEGO plans to tap into Boston’s talent pool, as mentioned in a January announcement. After operating its U.S. headquarters in Connecticut for five decades, the company is moving with plans to open a central Boston headquarters by 2026. LEGO already employs more than 700 people on the East Coast and will offer them assistance should they choose to relocate to its upcoming Boston facility. Currently, LEGO operates a 20,000-square-foot facility in Back Bay dedicated to its LEGO Education division.

     

    Hailing from the Bay Area, AutoReturn announced in April the relocation of its headquarters to Boston. AutoReturn provides automation software that works to streamline the processes of vehicle towing and impound management. Its goal is to help customers clear roads quicker and make communities safer. The company is opening its new HQ at 280 Summer St. in Fort Point, and is looking to take advantage of the neighborhood’s business environment and talent pool. 

     

     

    Specializing in designing and engineering products for sectors like biotech, Product Insight is relocating its firm’s headquarters from Acton, Georgia to Boxborough, according to an April announcement. The move to the Tech Central building at 80 Central St. aims to better suit Product Insight’s facility requirements. The building spans 149,000 square feet in size, and Product Insight will lease 21,000 square feet.

     

    Founded in Austria, Zoovu helps consumers find companies’ products more easily through its natural language processing software. Its product discovery solution uses data to deduce what a customer might be looking for. The artificial intelligence company announced its new global headquarters in Boston in March. This news follows an investment from FTV Capital and the appointment of a new CEO James Novak last year.

     

    Sasaki, a firm specializing in architecture, planning, landscape and design, recently headed to downtown Boston after occupying office space in suburban Watertown for decades. The company now occupies the top seven floors of the 110 Chauncy building. The space was updated in March to include several modern design elements, including touchscreen workstation monitors and a private rooftop deck.

     

    A spinout of Danaher, a global science and tech conglomerate, will set up shop in Waltham in Q4, as announced in February. The new, publicly-traded company will be called Veralto and consist of 11 companies focused on things like water quality and project identification. These entities, including ChemTreat and VideoJet, employ 16,000 employees and generated $4.8 billion in revenue in 2022.

     

    Paperless Parts upgraded to a larger space for its Bay State headquarters. Formerly based in West End, the company that develops quote generation and cost estimate software for manufacturers announced a new space in downtown Boston in January. Paperless Parts is now based out of a 25,000-square-foot office located at 60 State St. to accommodate its growing team.
