PurpleLab, a healthcare analytics company, has announced the acquisition of Boston-based KAID Health, an AI-powered clinical analytics and care management company. The move will integrate both companies’ technologies, with the goal of delivering a more complete and actionable view of the patient journey by drawing from both structured and unstructured healthcare data.
According to a company news release, PurpleLab’s HealthNexus platform delivers insights from billions of HIPAA-compliant data points, while KAID Health’s Whole Chart Analysis uses natural language processing to extract information from electronic medical records and clinical notes. By combining these capabilities, the integrated platform is expected to enable healthcare organizations to accelerate clinical research and drug development, enhance care management and more.
“This acquisition positions PurpleLab to move beyond traditional analytics and become an AI-first healthcare intelligence company. By combining our data with KAID’s AI, we can unlock insights from the unstructured clinical narrative and deliver measurable value and proven financial impact to our partners and other healthcare organizations,” PurpleLab CEO Mark Brosso said in a statement.
PurpleLab says the unified platform is now available to payers, provider groups and life sciences companies.
