Flywire, a global payments enablement and software company, has named Patrick Blanc as its new chief technology officer. Blanc will lead the company’s engineering, implementation and technical support operations as it advances an AI-first engineering approach and continues to scale its global payments platform.

Blanc brings experience from previous technical leadership roles, most recently serving as the CTO of fintech company Ingenico. He also served as CTO of Cybersource and CTO of value-added services at Visa in addition to spending a decade with PayPal in the U.S. and Singapore. In his new role, Blanc will oversee the technical direction for Flywire’s specialized payment software, which is used in the education, healthcare and travel sectors.

“Flywire’s leadership in developing software-driven payments experiences that embed into mission-critical workflows sets the company apart,” Blanc said in a statement. “I’m excited to build on this foundation and scale our capabilities to meet growing demand, while delivering even greater value for clients worldwide.”

Blanc’s appointment coincides with David King’s transition from chief technology officer to a new dual role as chief product officer and co-president of global education.
