EnterpriseDB, a company that provides enterprises with software and services for using Postgres, has acquired Splitgraph, a platform that provides a Postgres-compatible serverless SQL API for building data-driven applications. This move strengthens EDB’s capabilities in analytics and AI, allowing for more efficient and collaborative data lake and data warehousing operations.
Splitgraph’s technology and expertise will enhance EDB’s core capability of running analytical queries across diverse data sets. It will enrich data integration, cataloging and governance, simplifying the management of in-house data and information sourced from open publishers through a single Postgres interface. This acquisition aligns with EDB’s commitment to delivering Postgres solutions and addressing the evolving challenges of customers in a diverse data landscape.
The acquisition was facilitated by Handmade Ventures. EDB serves more than 1,500 customers globally, including government agencies, financial services, media and IT companies. By leveraging Splitgraph’s capabilities, EDB aims to transform the way organizations engage with data using Postgres, particularly for analytics workloads and AI-driven use cases.
