Commonwealth Raised $1.8B, Quinyx Gained $50M, and More Boston Tech News

Boston tech companies raised billions last week and MassRobotics announced a new accelerator program. Read on to learn what these companies are up to next. This is the Built In Boston weekly refresh. 

Commonwealth Fusion Systems raised $1.8B. The company will use the $1.8 billion Series B funding round led by Tiger Global Management to fund commercialized fusion energy. The funding will also allow Commonwealth to create and operate SPARC, the world’s first commercially-relevant net energy fusion machine, along with the first commercial fusion power plant. Boston became home for these tech companies in 2021. Boston saw an influx of new office leases for tech companies seeking to take advantage of the local business scene. These offices are meant to cater to growing companies, while also making room for more hires. Quinyx gets $50M. The latest funding round was led by Battery Ventures, and caps off a year of big growth for Quinyx. Originally launched in 2005 in Sweden, Quinyx is a workforce management platform for hourly workers. The funding will go toward expanding its global footprint and platform. [Built In Boston]

AdeptID gained $3.5M. The seed funding round was led by Zeal Capital Partners. AdeptID uses machine learning to identify good candidates for various roles. The funding will go toward accelerating its software development. [Built In Boston]

MassRobotics announced a robotics startup accelerator. MassRobotics is working to address some of the biggest challenges in industrial internet-of-things industries and robotics. To further its mission, MassRobotics created an Amazon Web Services Robotics Startup Accelerator, which is a four-week mentorship program for robotic startups across the globe. Starburst Galaxy now available. The SaaS platform is now available on three major cloud networks: AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. Starburst Enterprise works to provide data warehouse analytics without the physical warehouse to give companies more freedom and time. [Starburst]
