The Routing Company gained $15M. The Routing Company uses fleet management software for its on-demand ride platform to pair riders with public transportation. The company raised $15 million in a Series A round led by Galvanize Climate Solutions. FreightFlows gained $1.8M. FreightFlows provides maritime market intelligence and analytics for global logistics and supply chain systems. FreightFlows received $1.8 million in funding led by Motion Ventures. Along with the funding, the startup also launched its Predictive Maritime Intelligence Platform, which predicts near-term commercial ship operations. Vicarious Surgical appointed a new VP of operations. The Waltham-based robotics tech company announced John Mazzola is joining its team as a new VP. Mazzola previously worked as a vice president of operations at Becton Dickinson Surgery and will be responsible for leading the company’s strategic manufacturing plans. [Business Wire]
3Play Media launched a podcast transcription service. The media accessibility provider just launched a new product aimed at podcast producers. Though it just launched, the service is already used by 3Play customers including the producers of the popular NPR podcast This American Life.
