BizWorkshop: Design Sprints for Mobile Apps, November 15 at 8 a.m.

Attend a breakfast program that will focus on how to accelerate your company’s mobile app idea to market. The digital app workshop will be presented by Patrick Richardson of Hedgehog Lab. Richardson and his team will take you through a workshop on how to conduct your own design sprint using Google’s tested design sprint formula, adapted from experience to focus solely on mobile applications.

Migrating to Elasticsearch at CarGurus and You know, for Search, November 15 at 6 p.m.

Many techies know that Elasticsearch is a great analytics tool, but this talk will cover what it takes to create a great search experience with Elasticsearch. The chat will start with an overview of select Elasticsearch features such as aggregations, highlighting and suggesters, and discuss how these features can be used to improve users' search experience.

Creating High Performance Virtual Teams, November 15 at 6 p.m.

The Boston Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN) is hosting a talk about best practices when working with virtual teams. Many people experience virtual teams as awkward, slow and frustrating. Rick Brenner, a principal of Chaco Canyon Consulting, will cover ways companies can change their approach to leading, managing and supporting virtual teams to achieve high performance using Simons' Four Spans model of high performance.

Rapid7 Sales Networking Event, November 16 at 6 p.m.

Join the Rapid7 Sales Team for a happy hour at Back Bay Social Club where you will get to network with the company’s sales managers and learn about open sales positions. Free drinks and apps will be provided. Rapid7 is currently looking to hire sales managers, account executives, business development reps and more.

Windows Server 2016 and Azure, November 18 at 8 a.m.

The Boston Area Windows Server User Group is sponsoring a training class "Windows Server 2016 and Azure” for their members and to the local technology community. Dan Stolts and the experts of Windows Boston will host an all day, hands-on training session where you will learn about Windows Server 2016, what 2016 will mean for our datacenters and what 2016 and Azure have in common.
