5 Boston tech events to check out this week

Every week, we bring you the best events in Boston tech. This week's roundup includes a weekly hack night, the annual Boston Data Fest, an opportunity to pitch your startup for seed funding, and a Boston Founder Institute information session, where entrepreneurs can learn about what it takes to launch a business with the Institute’s training courses. Weekly Hack Night, September 20 at 7 p.m.

Code for Boston is holding their weekly work session at the Cambridge Innovation Center in Kendall Square, on the fourth floor in the cafe. These Hack Nights are a great time to meet other coders and work on and discuss civic tech projects.

Founder Institute Information Session in Boston, September 22 at 6:30 p.m.

If you are thinking about launching a company, then the Boston Founder Institute may be a good option for you to learn more. Their part-time, four-month entrepreneur training program helps entrepreneurs “learn by doing” and launch a company through structured training courses, practical business-building assignments, and expert feedback from a large network of business mentors.

Boston Data Fest, September 22 at 8 p.m.

The first day of the 4th annual Boston Data Festival brings together the data-centric community to kick off three days of events, learning, collaborating, and networking. The event brings together start-ups, private companies and anyone else interested in learning more about data science. Tickets can be purchased here.

Pitch Your Startup for $1-$500K in Seed Funding, September 23 at 12 p.m.

The team at 3Si Micro Venture & Holdings will listen to your pitch and provide valuable feedback. Any participants are encouraged to have a solid understanding of the problem they are solving and the niche market they serve.

Boston Data Festival Career Fair, September 23 at 12 p.m.

Talented individuals will have the opportunity to network with representatives from top data science companies looking for employees. Some of the companies hiring include Amazon, Wayfair, General Assembly, and McKinsey. Register for free here, but make sure to bring your resume!
