Cognito raised $73M. Cognito is a Cambridge-based startup that developed a wearable headset that may be able to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. The headset has received Breakthrough Device Designation from the FDA. This Series B funding will help Cognito conduct a clinical trial with about 500 patients across the U.S. [Built In Boston]

Butlr secured $5M. Butlr develops hardware and software solutions that can track people’s body temperature to generate real-time data about building occupancy. Companies can use this data to improve their workspace planning and better manage their facilities. Butlr is headquartered in San Francisco, but it has a Boston cohort of about 15 employees. Boston Tech Quote of the Week

“With its location adjacent to Harvard’s growing Allston campus and its introduction of state-of-the-art Class A lab space, 176 Lincoln will be an important addition to the rapidly growing life science, medical, academic research and corporate corridor stretching through Boston and into Cambridge.” — Berkeley Investments President Young Park

City officials approved a real estate development with lab space. The three-building development, called 176 Lincoln, will bring together restaurants, apartments and 720,000 square feet of lab and office space for Boston’s biotech and life sciences companies. The five-acre parcel at 176 Lincoln St. has sat unused for decades. [Built In Boston]
