The first week of January is typically a slow time for business news as companies rebound from the holidays and chart a course for the new year. Several Boston tech companies did start 2023 off with a bang, though, by announcing new funding and acquisitions. Cleartelligence received fresh funding. Cleartelligence is a Newton-based data engineering and analytics consulting firm that works with enterprise clients to provide data-backed business insights and implement solutions for their complex business problems. The recent investment comes from Align Capital Partners, which said it will work with Cleartelligence to pursue strategic acquisitions. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. [Business Wire]

PTC completed its acquisition of ServiceMax. PTC is a Boston-area company developing software solutions that help manufacturers reduce costs and become more efficient. The company announced in November it would acquire ServiceMax, the developer of field service management software. The deal, which closed last week, calls for PTC to pay $808 million at closing and an additional $650 million in October. [PR Newswire]
