There are over 500 healthtech startups in Boston, some born and bred, while others are transplants. Bambo Health, a Louisville, Kentucky-based healthcare technology solutions company, is the newest transplant in town after announcing it opened an office in Boston’s Financial District on Tuesday.

The office, located at 100 High St., is in place to serve as the company’s New England employee hub. Though operating in a hybrid workforce, one fifth of Bamboo’s over 460 employees are located in Boston.

The new office follows a busy 2021 for Bamboo Health. Last year, the company went by the name Appriss Health. After acquiring PatientPing, a similar Boston-based healthtech startup that helps hospital providers through technology to seamlessly coordinate patient medical care, Appriss Health rebranded into Bamboo Health.

“As one of the largest, most diverse care collaboration networks in the country, Bamboo Health is proud of our growing global workforce that’s consistently pushing boundaries to help drive innovation that can improve patient outcomes,” Rob Cohen, Bamboo Health CEO, said in a statement. “With the increased demand for whole-person care coordination, Bamboo Health is committed to empowering healthcare providers and payers with the software, real-time information and actionable insights they need to improve patient care across the physical and behavioral health continuum.”

Alongside unveiling its local office space, another big priority for Bamboo Health is to continue “actively hiring with diversity, equity and inclusion goals for a 50/50 male and female workforce,” according to a company statement. Bamboo Health is actively hiring for nearly 50 roles.

Bamboo Health’s software and information technology provides healthcare providers with insights that help facilitate whole-person care across the physical and behavioral health spectrum. The company works with 2,500 hospitals, 8,000 post-acute facilities, more than 25,000 pharmacies, 50 state governments and over one million acute and ambulatory providers.
