Activ Surgical raises $11M to improve surgical outcomes. Currently a team of 20, Activ Surgical plans to double in size over the next year. Their product ActivSight, which is being prepared for commercial launch, uses artificial intelligence and novel sensors to act as a guidance system for surgeons. [Built In Boston]

GRAX drums up $12M and plans Boston HQ. The data storage and analytics platform integrates with Salesforce and stores a full set of their clients’ historical data in their preferred cloud platform, so that even if they stop using GRAX, clients can keep and access their data. $73.3M in venture funding brought in by 6 Boston startups in October. Own Up, an online mortgage marketplace, gained $14.9M in this Series A round. Not far behind in terms of funding was the property management platform Building Engines, which plans to use its $12.7M to acquire more companies. [Built In Boston]

BlueSnap extends its reach with Armatic. The global payments technology company still currently relies on paper invoices and checks. The acquisition of Armatic, with its accounts receivable and invoicing automation, will allow them to further streamline their quote-to-payment process. [PRNewswire]

Analytics startup Tranquil Data launched its flagship product. Their software allows companies to track the origins of the data they collect, which in turn helps them avoid inadvertently running afoul of regulatory restrictions in regards to data use. Founded just last year, Tranquil Data raised $1.8 million in funding in 2018. [Press Release]

Corindus merges with Siemens. The $1.1 billion merger will allow Corindus Vascular Robotics to further invest in engineering talent. The company created a system that uses robotics and remote control to move balloon/stent catheters and coronary guidewires. [Boston Business Journal]
