My 2006 Toyota Corolla isn’t in the best shape of its life.

The check engine light has been on for longer than I care to admit, and I can’t remember the last time I changed its oil. The exterior is decorated with various dents and scratches.

It’s not that I don’t love my car — we’ve shared so many fond memories — it’s just that taking your car into the auto shop is a chore; one that I often put off.

We want to make it easy for people to take care of their cars.”

Zippity makes it easier for your car to get the care it deserves. The company provides on-demand car servicing, coming to your workplace to provide things like oil changes, new tires, detailing, battery replacement, brake servicing and more. On Wednesday, the company announced that it raised $3 million in a seed funding round.

Zippity’s at-work car care service is a boon for those of us that drive to work every day, but there’s more to it than just convenience. Zippity deploys mobile service garages (complete with car lifts) for an array of auto work. Plus, the company will send you reminders, photos of your car and text notifications to keep you informed throughout the whole process.

“We want to make it easy for people to take care of their cars in a straightforward way,” Zippity VP of Marketing, Malcolm Faulds told Built In.

According to Faulds, car care is a $63 billion industry, yet it feels outdated. The on-demand and convenient nature of Zippity is a welcome change. The company also provides the price of each repair ahead of time, which helps prevent car owners who don’t know much about cars — like yours truly — from being taken advantage of.

Schooner Capital led the seed funding round, which will help Zippity refine its operations model and perfect its services. Zippity recently rolled out an eco-friendly detailing service, and it said additional new services will come out in the future.

Zippity services cars in New England and Texas. It’s headquartered in Boston.
