When it comes to diet and exercise, staying motivated can be difficult. No one wants to go it alone.

That’s why a number of innovative startups are making choosing a healthy lifestyle easy through a combination of convenience, positivity and group support. The following three health-focused startups are all members of MassChallenge’s 2018 cohort, and we’re excited to see where they go next.

Want your very own personal trainer but scared of what that might cost you? You’re not alone. Luckily, SPLITFIT aims to deliver fitness junkies quality personal training on demand for just $20. The startup is able to offer personal trainers on the cheap because you split your training session with up to three people. Once you download their app, simply choose a time that works for you at a local gym in SPLITFIT’s network, join a a personal training pool and voila! You’re ready to rumble. Bonus: You earn $5 back for every person who joins the pool after you.

Another Boston-based personal training startup is Tacit Motion, a company that’s created kinetic sensors to track your training wherever you go. The sensors record a digital impression that can be saved, allowing those who are serious about their fitness goals to access and track their training progress. The sensors also pair with an app that lets you customize your activities and schedule.

Black Girls Nutrition aims to be “the first online platform for women of color who are overweight or obese.” Through a combination of nutrition plans, online group support and messaging, BGN hopes to help women break the cycle of yo-yo dieting and make healthy lifestyles an easy choice.
