About the Traffic Coordinator Position

The Traffic Manager position is a highly collaborative role that interacts with essentially every department at Verndale. Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of utilization of our project team members, the Traffic Manager is a crucial component to ensuring successful projects run through the organization at all times, and that Verndale remains properly staffed in all areas. The Traffic Manager is expected to work with the Business Development team in strategic forecasting and assignments for incoming accounts, influence hiring decisions and priority, and manage the day-to-day project needs with the Program Management team. As Verndale's Traffic Manager you are both an ally to Program Management and their teams, as well as the main point of accountability back to the business for proper staffing and utilization throughout the entire company. As Verndale continues to grow, the Traffic Manager department and processes need to continue to evolve; the ideal candidate should have experience in this role and be comfortable contributing, and even leading, the evolution of this department.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the forecasting and planning of potential new sales onto the appropriate project teams
  • Report on projected utilization and capacity to guide management hiring decisions and priority
  • Report back to management actualized utilization data
  • Identifying issues or risks with Sales pipeline, team capacity and staff make-up and proposing mitigation strategies or solutions as needed
  • Management of day-to-day project requests and ad hoc needs
  • Daily management of Verndale's schedule and team management software
  • Act as a point of escalation as project staffing issues arise
  • Act as a point of consultation to management as project staffing issues arise

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Traffic Manager (preferably in the IT industry or digital agency space)
  • Strong leadership skills, adaptable with the ability to handle tough situations appropriately
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize, multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Project Management experience not required, but a big plus
  • Comfortable making decisions on behalf of management
