Summary:

We are looking for a technology professional to support our Linux based camera systems and video transport network. Strong customer service skills are required as you consult directly with our internal and external users to configure and implement new network assets and to resolve equipment failures, configuration issues, and user errors. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary to make sure that our complex systems are configured properly and that issues are diagnosed and resolved efficiently. Primary responsibilities:

  • Ensure the proper operation of our network resources around the world
  • Work with customers and ISPs to determine and resolve connectivity issues
  • Support the ReadyCam engineering department and Operations department with escalated issues ranging from studio installations to live broadcasts
  • Configure, deploy, and bring online new network resources as we continue to grow our network reach
  • Support and train our operations staff and customers with the use of our web based control systems
  • Evolve and refine our network operations SOPs
  • Gather and track key support and system health metrics
  • Maintain system and process documentation
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support after-hours issues
  • Provide project management for onboarding new transmission clients
  • Maintain inventory of transmission equipment

 

Job qualifications:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Passionate about learning and self-directed study
  • Computer networking basics
  • Strong Linux (Ubuntu) administration skills
  • Basic Cisco IOS administration
  • Basic video engineering skills (signal types, signal flow)
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and an ability to interact with people of varying technical levels
  • Superb customer service skills.
  • Mature judgment to make sound decisions based on objective evidence, customer needs, VideoLink needs, and cost considerations, sometimes within narrow time constraints.
  • Self-motivated, organized and resourceful with strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to set, track, and measure goals, delivering results on deadline
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours to resolve escalated issues
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
