The Strategic Account Manager will apply their knowledge of the publishing industry and CCC services, including RightsLink, RightsLink for Open Access, XML for Mining and CCC’s core licensing products, to provide leadership and account management for a named list of strategic Rightsholders. They will interact effectively both externally with multiple levels within multi-million dollar Rightsholder organizations to introduce and grow revenue opportunities and operational efficiencies and internally as both the account expert and leader and the primary CCC interface.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES:

  • Provide direction and leadership as the Strategic Account Manager for a defined list of strategic Rightsholder Accounts ensuring that both client and CCC’s relationship and revenue needs are achieved.
  • Drive revenue and operational efficiencies for largest Rightsholder accounts.
  • Provide trend analysis as requested (FAS, ACL, RightsLink, etc) and socialize complex and critical publisher issues (i.e. integration of new and future European privacy and taxation legislation) to CCC legal, product, etc and communicate results to Rightsholders.
  • Educate Rightsholders on new CCC services with a goal of acquiring strategic rights inventory and growing revenue.
  • Create and deliver regular strategic account reviews to multiple levels within the publishing house.
  • Set direction internally for those who interact with Rightsholders (Business Development, Product, Professional Services, Customer Service, Finance, etc.).
  • Maintain a high level understanding of CCC technical products (RightsLink, RightsLink OA, XML for Mining, RLS, RightFind, etc. ) with a goal of validating and translating Rightsholders’ requests to the appropriate CCC technical teams.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for strategic Rightsholder accounts and assist overall CCC business in their interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7-10 years in Relationship and Account Management.
  • Negotiation Skills.
  • Financial and Business Acumen.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Customer Orientation.
  • Effectively manages projects.
  • Problem solver.
  • Comfortable with technology and technology related processes.
  • Can describe and report technical and business requirements precisely and accurately for Product and Professional Services teams.
  • Performs at a high level independently or with little direction.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office – can create and manage spreadsheets of medium complexity; word documents and graphical power point presentations
  • Publishing industry experience preferred.
  • Project management and/or sales experience desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally and independently.
  • Skilled at building relationships and able to interact with all levels of an organization.
