This SRE role on the Platforms team here at Runkeeper will fall under the newly create ASICS Global Digital, allowing you to solve problems for a global fitness brand and mobile fitness application in our collaborative and learning driven environment. This individual will work with the Platforms team to design and implement solutions across a multitude of different business units and will contribute to building a global platform on AWS for delivering our products and services. You will have the opportunity to work on new technologies and to influence the technical direction of the platforms team and other groups throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the reliability, scalability, availability and security of our platform and applications
• Solve problems
• Provide expertise in the areas of performance, security, infrastructure and software delivery
• Platform and infrastructure automation
• Building tools to improve the end to end software and product delivery process (for example https://github.com/FitnessKeeper/leeroy)

Requirements:

• Development or scripting in a cross-platform language like python, ruby, perl, etc.
• Experience writing configuration management and orchestration code (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer)
• Experience or knowledge of DevOps and its tenets
• Effective communication skills and ability to communicate with a geographically distributed team
• Automating and operating applications in a public cloud environment
• Tuning monitoring and application performance monitoring systems to provide effective metrics and alerting

Location: The role is based in the ASICS/Runkeeper office in Boston. Visa sponsorship will be offered to the right candidate.
