SENIOR QA ENGINEER

TESTING. TESTING. ONE… TWO… THREE… is this thing on?
Where would you go if you were a QA ENGINEER considering a new position, or maybe a QA ENGINEER who is being tapped on the shoulder by yours truly?

In this position, you will focus your detailed technical eye on ensuring that our customer facing systems work properly and efficiently so our business thrives. You will be a member on an agile (Scrum) development team working closely with developers, designers and other analysts to deliver product functionality in an iterative process.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Testing and validating product enhancements and new product launches for consumer web and mobile applications.
  • Collaborating with team members to create test cases to cover all the use cases identified in the sprint stories.
  • Identifying, collecting and/or creating validation test data sets.
  • Providing estimation efforts to complete testing tasks related to sprint stories.
  • Planning, creating and executing detailed manual test scripts.
  • Thoroughly documenting the results of test cases and any defects encountered so they are easily understood.
  • Performing functional and regression testing.
  • Keeping manager updated with status of tasks and make team aware of any issues or risks that may impact the delivery of a story or product release.

 Essential SkillsRequired Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor of Science or better in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5-10 years Quality Assurance.
  • Working knowledge of testing multi-tier web applications on multiple OS and browsers.
  • Working knowledge of browser plug-ins/developer tools to assist in web app testing (view HTML, Javscript, CSS).
  • Ability to write SQL to create test data and verify test results.
  • Ability to reason through complex requirements and create applicable test scenarios.
  • Working knowledge of defect tracking systems (JIRA preferred).
  • Detail-oriented, organized and resourceful, and must have strong written and verbal communication skills
