QA Engineers at Paint Nite are involved in every step of the development life-cycle. They collaborate with Product to ensure specs meet real-world use cases. QA works closely with developers to understand implemented changes and uncover forgotten side-effects. They use their hard-earned knowledge of the system to discover bugs and identify performance or security impact. They implement automation that makes testing faster and more reliable. QA Engineers assist with releases to production and review monitoring. In general, QA acts as an advocate for the consumer and a subject matter expert that spans departments. 

We are looking for an individual that has demonstrated experience in defining and implementing practical and effective reliability metrics, policies, processes, and models across the entire systems development life cycle. This individual must also have management experience to oversee 2-3 staff members.

You will:

• Build, manage, and lead the QA technology team providing best practices and guidance on all projects.
• Work with Operations teams to ensure transition to production is orchestrated without impact to operations.
• Coordinate the development of automation and orchestration tools to enable effective continuous integration.
• Improve product delivery cycles through integration of testing into the agile delivery cycle
• Develop standards for release readiness, release verification, regression testing, and deployment.
• Lead test planning and strategy across teams for a unified plan of testing and product validation.
• Establish metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and lead regular quality reporting.
• Build load testing frameworks and leverage tooling to standardize performance testing.

You have:

• 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance for web applications
• At least 2-3 years of management experience
• Understanding of test automation tools such as Selenium/Webdriver, Robot, TestNG, Junit, Sauce Labs or similar tools
• Experience with programming/scripting (JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar language)
• Experience with bug-tracking software and Agile tools such as JIRA
• Solid working knowledge of cross-browser testing of responsive, multi-tiered web applications and e-commerce platforms
• Knowledge of how to use browser dev and debugging tools like Firebug
• Familiarity with source code management tools such as GitHub or BitBucket
• Experience with MySQL and database testing
• Extreme attention to detail and a passion for user experience

Bonus points: 

• Experience with container technologies such as Docker
• Experience with Jenkins, TeamCity or similar build technologies

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
