Project Manager – Enablement Team

Project Managers on the Enablement Team are responsible for all aspects of the customer enablement process and act as a single point of contact for inquiries and escalations. Ideal candidates will have a track record of successfully managing multiple parallel short-term projects while communicating project status and managing expectations both inside and outside of the organization. The Project Manager’s key responsibilities include:

Customer Onboarding. The Project Manager will work jointly with the customer to coordinate a successful onboarding experience. Typical activities include:

  • Set appropriate expectations related to project deliverables for our customers.
  • Form and manage a project team, consisting of EnerNOC, the customer and our partners.
  • Ensure timely and quality execution of all project deliverables.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customer and internal teams on technical enablement activities for key projects.
  • Set clear expectations with internal stakeholders regarding configuration process timeline and workflow, and develop and maintain key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Manage change order and other project modifications.
  • Conduct risk management reviews.
  • Identify and resolve project-related issues and escalations.
  • Effectively and consistently communicate progress throughout each project.
  • Influence internal processes with a focus on innovation and improved results.
  • Maintain a full understanding of contractual and regulatory issues relating to the utility, regional grid operator, our customers, and other parties.
  • Represent a team who strives for operational excellence and world-class customer service.

Project System Management. Oversee the proper booking and closure of deployment projects and associated financial controls.

  • Oversee proper data collection and initiation of all new EIS and Demand Response projects.
  • Manage process for creating project framework in our project management CRM database.
  • Provide reports and key performance indicators to ensure timeliness, quality, and compliance.

Tool and Process Development. Drive the team to continuously improve the tools and processes that support EIS projects and efficient customer on-boarding efforts.

  • Build collaborative cross-functional relationships and strategically leverage tools and improve operational efficiencies across teams.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs against project initiation and core configurations.
  • Ensure the team maintains standard tracking reports and dashboards for all primary deliverables.

Other Responsibilities.

  • Provide clear tracking methods to identify and resolve process exceptions.
  • Successfully manage incoming technical support inquiries and requests from internal customers.
  • Represent team on cross-departmental process improvement projects and facilitate any necessary communications and training with the core team.

The Project Manager will be an expert in EnerNOC’s core operational processes and will develop a deep understanding of the activities and issues involved with supporting site enablement, data quality, and the customer experience.

Required Qualifications/Skills/Education:

  • BA/BS with analytical, quantitative, business, or technical focus
  • 5-7 years experience in an operational team environment
  • Understanding of basic energy management principles
  • Familiarity with computer networking and programming fundamentals
  • Experience with integrating data feeds from multiple sources
  • Skilled with one or more process improvement methodologies
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative problem solving capability
  • Creative thinking skills and the ability to take the initiative
  • Desire to learn new technologies
  • Ability to develop efficiency gains through process improvement and automation
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work in a fast paced, forward moving environment
