Product Owner
As a member of the Production team, you will be heavily involved in new and existing feature development, and will have a material impact on what DraftKings is today and becomes tomorrow. While helping to lead a talented team of developers, you will serve as a liaison between the Product, Tech, and Business organizations to deliver quality features on-time, and maintain the health of the existing DraftKings products and platforms. The successful candidate will also leverage their skills and experience to coordinate cross-functional projects and be the “glue” that connects various teams and leads to successful delivery of larger features.
- Is an integral member and product representative for small agile development teams
- Facilitates breaking down product requirements into epics, stories and tasks
- Owns the prioritization and sequencing of the backlog
- Is an expert in their domain
- Keeps the backlog organized, manageable and actionable
- Drives value from team meetings and ceremonies, along with cadence
- Sets smart and measurable goals that align with roadmap and company strategy
- Provides transparency on results and planning through accurate weekly reporting
- Is an advocate for the team and general health of their respective platform
- Participates in testing and UATs and ensures that relevant stakeholders and Product Managers do the same
- Works cross functionally with other Product Owners and departments to unblock dependencies and deliver on larger product goals
- Works closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders to understand the business objectives and actual results of the work
- Provides insight and often helps in the completion of the spec process
- Sets and monitors individual OKRs that align with their team, domain and area of business
- In general, sets the pace and urgency for the work coming and going through their team
- Thinks creatively and analytically
- Balances quality, time and scope with very high standards and communication
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in B to C software development
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Portfolio illustrating inspiring delivered product and example of the tools and methodologies used
- Formal Product Owner Training
- Experience working in scrum, agile or kanban
- A passion for sports and knowledge of fantasy sports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in information design and user scenarios is a plus
- Experience in Analytics is a plus
- Experience in product management is a plus
