Brightcove is looking for a Human Resources Co-op student for the July - December term. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain hands-on experience in a fun, fast-paced human resources department. This person will learn about the importance of company culture, how we bring new employees up to speed and set them up for success, and how we support our existing employees so that they are able to do their best work. This person will work closely with our HR Generalist and Business Partners and help facilitate new hire orientation, benefits administration, and complete ad hoc projects, among other things.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with new hire onboarding and new hire orientations
  • Organize, scan, and update files to support HR Operations
  • Update Brightcove’s internal intranet as needed
  • Assist with creation of internal communications
  • Order and set up lunches for HR related events
  • Participate in the growth of the company by helping to reinforce company culture, recruit talent, and develop positive partner relationships
  • Help manage intern recruiting by participating in external events and career fairs as needed
  • Ad-hoc HR projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a BA degree in business or liberal arts.
  • Prior HR, customer service, administrative or related work experience; previous co-op/internship experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Comfortable using Gmail, Google calendar and Google docs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects in a changing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively on teams as well as independently.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in media, software, or technology industries is a plus.
