Director of Sales and Client Relations

About DoneGood

DoneGood believes the greatest force for change in the world is our collective purchasing power. People spend trillions of dollars buying stuff every year—if even a fraction of that spending can be diverted to companies that are helping people lift themselves out of poverty, reducing inequality, fighting climate change, and otherwise making the world better, the impact will be enormous!

Tens of thousands of people are using DoneGood (www.donegood.co) – a platform that includes a Chrome extension and app - to make it super easy to find businesses that are making cool stuff AND making the world better, which then helps the mission-driven social enterprises we serve to be more successful. We want to bring more companies onto the platform so more people can discover them and help grow the business-as-a-force-for-good movement.

DoneGood is a Certified B Corporation and Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), so our values and our impact are baked into our company charter. We are a growing startup that has quickly generated interest and praise from national media outlets, users, and partner companies.

About the Position

DoneGood’s Director of Sales and Client Relations manages relationships with existing partner brands and introduces DoneGood to new companies so they can join the DoneGood community.

We really see this role as a relationship builder and advocate for our partners more than a traditional “salesperson” role. We’ve designed our business model to help social enterprises succeed—that’s the reason we do what we do. That, and because we wanted to work at a social impact company that makes the world better ourselves, and work in a meaningful, collaborative, inclusive, empowering, fun, purposeful environment.

If you’re passionate about creating positive change and working directly with other social enterprises to create value for them and to help them succeed, this is a job you could love a lot!

Job Description:

Oversee all aspects of DoneGood’s partnership onboarding process from start to finish, including:

  • Screen companies’ social impact to determine whether they would be a good fit for the DoneGood platform
  • Field requests from social enterprises that want to partner with DoneGood
  • Reach out and speak with amazing social enterprises about potential DoneGood partnership
  • Refine our existing onboarding process to help make it more efficient both for us and our partner companies
  • Respond to user suggestions for new partner companies
  • Manage ongoing relationships with partner brands, analyze analytics to help drive more sales their way, and serve as the main point of contact for billing inquiries

Ideal Candidates:

  • You enjoy talking with people
  • You truly want to see the companies we work with succeed, and it shows in all that you do (especially in communications with our partners)
  • You can multitask and manage multiple relationships at the same time without letting things fall through the cracks
  • You’re curious and aren’t afraid to try new things and sometimes fail (‘cause jobs provide a good learning experience and startups are the ultimate petri dish)
  • You care about the world you live in and want to work to make it better

Work Conditions:

  • On-the-job fun; it’s a startup, it should be fun
  • On-call availability; it’s a startup and we’re a small team (this means schedules can be flexible! But it also means we sometimes have to move quick as things happen. We try really hard to take care of each other and make sure we all have a healthy work/life balance)
  • An inclusive, collaborative and welcoming work environment
  • Off-site work at events when necessary
  • Some short travel stints when necessary

Bonus Qualifications:

If the job description and work environment sounds exciting, and you see yourself reflected in the "ideal candidates section" listed above, we strongly encourage you to apply and talk with us. The following are bonuses:

  • You’ve got experience in sales and/or customer service, i.e. you’ve sold stuff before and you’re good at it (but with us you won’t be pushing lemons, more just letting folks know there’s some delicious lemonade available)
  • You have experience/familiarity with social enterprises (having worked for one or for an organization that promotes them, or you’ve blogged about them, shopped with them, read a book about them, or what have you)
  • You’ve got experience working to create the change you believe in—whether as a paid staffer or volunteer for an NGO, community organization, campus organization, political campaign, church group, workers’ rights group, organization supporting underrepresented communities, etc.
  • You have a college degree (MBA especially doesn’t hurt, but NOT at all required)

Salary and equity offering are commensurate with experience. All full-time employees are offered health care and other benefits.

DoneGood, PBC is extremely committed to creating a diverse team from all walks of life and lifestyles, with unique and varying experiences and viewpoints, and to creating a welcoming and empowering environment for all. DoneGood provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, ethnicity, color of skin or hair or eyes or anything, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age, disability, marital status, previous criminal conviction, or anything else that doesn’t have any damn thing to do with how well you’ll get the job done.

If you identify with an underrepresented group or background we strongly encourage you to apply.
