DataXu’s Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated, entry-level DevOps/Release Engineer. This position requires development skills for designing and implementing tools to automate and measure the release engineering processes. In addition, your knowledge in software build and release process as you will monitor and help with the release planning, build, packaging, dependency management, and definition of software release principles from multiple product teams to deliver fully automated continuous delivery solutions. On the Job:

• Design and support new development project creation through software (source control, builds, packages, hooks into continuous integration and delivery pipelines)
• Design and support of the software release process (timeline, development and operations owners, communication)
• Management and implementation of the build infrastructure (Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub)
• Management and implementation of the continuous integration/delivery pipeline (source change triggers, unit testing, integration testing, artifact management)
• Management and support of the continuous delivery pipeline (application deployments to test, stage, and production environments)
• Source Code Management Automation (repository, branch, and user management; best-practices evangelism)
• Coordinate with Engineering and Product teams to make sure developers are up-to-date with latest best practices and processes

About You:
Must-Haves:

• A four-year degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related field, or demonstrated job experience equating to a Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-3 years of relevant software development experience
• Strong communication skills inside of Engineering team
• Strong Shell scripting understanding
• Significant Python development experience
• Previous experience developing tools to automate manual processes

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with Jenkins (or other CI system) administration
• Working experience with GIT source control system
• Strong automation skills and an eye for inefficiencies
• Knowledge of Unix system administration from OS installs to network troubleshooting 
• Knowledge of Virtual Environments/Clouds, specifically AWS
• Experience in implementing and validating a release/versioning strategy
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies 
• Hands-on experience managing automated Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines
