The Role
We are revolutionizing the world of premium video advertising. Your work will impact online audiences and advertisers worldwide - seriously. As a DevOps Engineer at Pixability, you will be in a position to architect, build, and improve Pixability’s infrastructure, technology, and product. The impact you will have on those areas as well as the overall business cannot be overstated. Nearly every area of our business operations touches, in some way, our overall information and product infrastructure. We see the DevOps and IT functions as the core foundations to our overall corporate competency, health, and technical future.

In accordance with the Lean principles we try to ensure feedback loops are created as early in the development cycle as possible. DevOps is involved as soon as a developer starts coding and sharing their work with others. We strive for efficiency through automation and a high degree of quality in how development operates overall. We try to learn something every day and improve for the future.

The Team
Love for technology runs in our veins. We try to adhere to the best practices of SCRUM and Kanban (see our Tech Blog posts on our Agile Morphing). Like clockwork, we conduct daily stand-ups, sprint review / demo meetings, and retrospectives. We hate thrashing. We want to build things the right way. We conduct backlog grooming meetings, early project reviews, and blue-sky design sessions. We collaborate very closely with both the Product Management team and the internal users of our software.

We believe in empowering engineers to come up with solutions (not just implement them). At the end of every sprint, our engineers demonstrate what they have built to the rest of the team, the Product Management team, and other department stakeholders. Every month we show off the key features we’ve built to the whole company. Our goal is to continue to innovate quickly while maintaining the highest levels of quality.

Who You Are
You believe in automation, quality, and clarity. You know there is always room to employ best practices and simplicity. You value attention to detail, organizing your work well, and sticking to commitments big and small. You are very proactive in your approach to collaboration and communication.

You feel very comfortable managing Amazon Web Service clusters from soup to nuts. You have built complicated pipeline deployments involving both code and data using a CI / CD framework like Jenkins. Linux and Python are your bread and butter. Ansible is your preferred approach to configuration management. You have worked with Docker and CoreOS clusters and are aware of their benefits and challenges. You like to keep up with the latest developments in the DevOps industry. You are familiar with the challenges and solutions in system deployment, monitoring, failover, and security. You thrive on designing and delivering something new and cool that will impact many users worldwide. You are energized by contributing to process definition and technology selection. You seek a place with a great company and tech culture.

Local candidates only please – no relocation is available for this position.
