We are looking for a Data Engineer who will:

• Extract and prepare data for analysis
• Support our product, marketing, and clinical research teams
• Be in charge of all usage and engagement data coming from millions of our users
• Understand the Ovia data resource, and inform its development as the complexity of incoming data and linked data increases
• Participate in initiatives to link the Ovia data resource with external databases and sources of data.
• Help Ovia think through the structure of our data resources as we build them to support analytics, data science, and clinical-decision support

We value intelligence and drive. We'd love to see applicants who have:

• Experience working with or designing an internal analytics or ETL platform
• 2+ working years of back-end development using PHP
• 2+ working years with SQL
• Experience with data visualization tools
• Experience with data analysis & reporting
• Experience with extremely large data sets
• Comfortable working in a team and ability to give and receive feedback
• Independent, critical thinker with strong communication skills
• Nice to haves: experience with JSON, Git, Ubuntu
