This is a great opportunity for an HTML expert, who is a big fan of travel, to work in a fast-paced and growing marketing team. Working for Vacation Rentals, a TripAdvisor company based in Needham, you will create and update emails for both travelers and vacation home owners. You will be a super user of HTML editing software like Eclipse, GNU Emacs or BBedit, and have a natural creative flair to make sure our email campaigns look and work as well as they can.

 What You'll Do:

• Create new and update existing code for B2C and B2B emails to be sent to our large and rapidly growing Vacation Rentals database.
• Make improvements to our batch and triggered email campaigns across TripAdvisor, Holiday Lettings and other Points of Sale within the TA Vacation Rentals Group
• Able to give continuous constructive feedback to the rest of the team including other coders, designers, copy writers, and project managers.
• Assist with reporting and various data pulls
• Work closely with the CRM Engineering team to ensure all campaigns are implemented correctly in order to deliver the most engaging experience using dynamic and variable content
• Perform basic back-end engineering functionality on an as-needed basis
• Work with market specialists to ensure that our email campaigns are fully localized and optimized
• QA emails to ensure that all campaigns work correctly and adhere to best practices
• Manage lead times with the Design and CRM Engineering teams to ensure receipt of all design and data points in a timely fashion

What We Seek:

We are searching for an enthusiastic team player who has an exceptionally keen eye for detail. The ideal person for this role will be data-minded but with an eye for aesthetics – it’s important that all of our emails stay true to the look and feel of our Vacation Rentals brands. You will be comfortable prioritizing tasks and managing multiple strands of work. You will get a real buzz from seeing one of your campaigns have a direct and noticeable impact in terms of engagement.

Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience coding emails, including knowledge of responsive design for mobile
• Prior experience creating and editing emails for delivery by a product such as ExactTarget, preferably for an online travel business
• Some experience scripting web pages or email templates
• Mobile Optimization and Personalization experience
• Comfortable working directly with HTML email templates using a text-based tool such as Eclipse, BBEdit, or Emacs
• Some prior localization experience is a bonus, but interest in this area is sufficient
• Experience working with or for an ESP
• Some travel-related experience would be a bonus
• Fluency in English; another European language preferred

Qualifications:

• University degree (or equivalent) required.

 Skills/Knowledge:

• Proficient knowledge of a high-performance text and HTML editor, as well as ExactTarget
• Advanced user of Adobe Photoshop
• Familiarity and knowledge of email marketing, including deliverability and rendering best practices
