Cambridge Semantics™, the leader in Smart Data Lakes™, is seeking a skilled Cloud Developer/Architect with strong Python programming experience to join our fast-growing, world class team for the opportunity to shape and evolve strategic cloud capabilities and contribute to our efforts in pioneering semantics based business intelligence solutions!

You would be working directly under the VP of Cloud and taking ownership of cross-cloud projects involving continuous delivery and integration, architecture, and implementation. We are in the early stages of team building, so now is a great opportunity to influence part of the architecture and collaborate on the strategy moving forward! 

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement solutions to streamline business and IT processes, to achieve company goals, more effectively and efficiently

  • Understand the available architectures and technologies, assess the promising options efficiently

  • Develop and configure automation tools in support of development, testing and production deployments striving for 100% automation.

  • Contribute, shape and improve the way we use and manage infrastructure

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in the field

  • Proven solid cloud architecture and best practices skill (AWS, GCP/GCE, MS Azure, OpenStack) required

  • Work on a modern SaaS application desirable

  • Hadoop/Spark desirable

  • Load balancing, reverse proxying experience desirable

  • Fluent programmer preferably in Python, Java and Javascript;  golang is a plus.

  • In depth experience with Docker, k8s and microservices in general

  • CI/CD experience (automate build, packaging, test pipelines and deployments with Jenkins, git, OBS etc)

  • Ansible experience

  • Hands on DevOps experience with cloud IaaS such as AWS, GCP, MS Azure, OpenStack, K8s with in depth understanding of cloud based application deployment patterns cloud computing best practices

  • Solid linux systems skill of CentOS/RHELs7+ or ubuntu required, MS Windows Server (2016) a plus

  • System and network security best practices, SDN knowledge a plus

  • Semantic Web technologies (RDF, OWL, SPARQL) not a prerequisite, but an advantage

  • Agile (SCRUM) experience preferred

  • Design thinking experience a plus

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team OR (Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with others on multi-disciplinary projects.)

  • Self-disciplined with strong attention to detail

  • Excellent written and oral communications OR (The ability to work collaboratively, to communicate technical concepts clearly and accurately)

  • Energetic and self-starting
