We are looking for an exceptional and detail-oriented Associate Biostatistician/Scientist with experience in Health Economics and Outcomes Research, who can communicate effectively and work collaboratively with clients. An ideal candidate is someone who thrives on working in a fast-paced and exciting team environment in one of the most cutting-edge industries where big data analytics meets healthcare. You will work with clients to carry out analysis projects using our proprietary, supercomputer-powered Bayesian network modeling and simulation platform, and will synthesize these results into meaningful reports for clients and product development. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Performing prospective and retrospective health services, health outcomes, and health economic research activities under the direction of the Director of HEOR Analytics
  • Assisting in the preparation of study protocol, analytic results in the form of annotated study tables and client reports, journal manuscripts, and abstract/posters for professional meetings
  • Perform data manipulations and develop algorithms on multi-data sets that create the analytic files necessary to support analyses
  • Utilizing industry standard as well as cutting-edge health economic analytical and statistical techniques
  • Conduct disease specific analyses that provide insight into care provided that result in algorithms that can be implemented in our product platform
  • Using primarily R, produce output-reports, tables and figures-driven by project specific needs
  • Documenting steps taken and proofing/cross checking results
  • Supporting analysts in all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Job Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Masters degree with 2-3 years experience, or relevant field such as biostatistics, health economics, epidemiology, or health services research
    • Familiarity with Bayesian statistical methods, and probabilistic graphical models a plus
    • Extensive programming experience working with health-related data, specifically administrative claims, electronic medical record (EMR), and patient-reported outcomes (PRO)
    • Knowledge and fluency of R is required
    • Strong skills in linkage of various types of data files are required.
    • Knowledge of database programming and a scripting language such as Perl, Python, Ruby, or other programming languages a plus, but not required
    • Exceptional judgment and discretion in working with confidential data is necessary
    • Experience with performance issues of very large dataset processing and complex data manipulation is highly desirable with PostgreSQL or other databases
    • Ability to manage own time and proactively identify prioritized tasks for multiple concurrent projects
    • Comfortable working in a Unix and a HPC environment is highly desirable
