Skyword’s Director, Content Services, is responsible for managing a team of up to 5 Professional Services Managers at varying levels. The Director, Content Services could oversee up to 40 client programs depending on the makeup for their team.

The Director, Content Services is responsible for the delivery of all client deliverables across their portfolio, maintaining high-level relationships with Skyword clients, ensuring results driven strategies are created and executed against as well as fostering the professional growth of junior talent. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Work with Content Services team members to help clients formulate their content strategy
  • Develop and recommend omnichannel strategies to clients that may include original Skyword content (articles, videos, visual and interactive content), paid media, native advertising, email newsletters, nurture tracks, and marketing automation.
  • Support the in managing teams and client portfolios, with an emphasis on enterprise and high ARR clients and important client interactions (kickoffs, quarterly reviews, upsells, renewals).
  • Work closely with the VP, Professional Services and Directors across Editorial to ensure a cohesive and collaborative approach to content and editorial strategy across all client programs and teams
  • Ensure delivery of monthly program goals and KPIs. Guide the analysis of goals and KPIs across accounts
  • Lead client teams through collaborative workshops and strategy sessions
  • Uphold platform, service, and process quality standards to ensure output exceeds client expectations
  • Oversee the coordination and integration of a diverse set of creative resources as part of client strategies
  • Identify and implement process improvements that positively impact the team and service delivery to Skyword clients
  • Identify opportunities to expand the relationship with clients and drive contract renewals
  • Be a creative storytelling mentor for clients and the Skyword Content Services team
  • Provide regular updates on client work to Skyword leadership team
  • Ensure client health documents are up-to-date with latest account status
  • Escalate client concerns to senior team members
  • Partner with sales as needed and provide support on new business needs

Operations and Talent Staffing

  • Build and manage a team of Professional Service Managers who are responsible for the management and delivery of content marketing programs for Skyword’s clients
  • Coach team and provide regular performance evaluations to all direct reports
  • Identify employee growth areas and work with L&D to recommend appropriate training opportunities and ensure completion
  • Support Human Resources in the hiring process through candidate identification and interviewing
  • Contribute during management roundtable discussions

Leadership

  • Build relationships with/ director-level senior client stakeholders
  • Resolve issues and develop relevant and actionable plans, programs and recommendations
  • Work with team members to identify and present opportunities for platform enhancements that benefit customer experiences 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • 4+ years of digital marketing 
  • 4+ years of client management
  • 4+ years of search, social and content marketing
  • 3+ years of personnel management
  • Experience with online content and SEO
  • Experience working with digital advertising agencies or consultancies
  • Experience within a startup, high tech environment
  • Strong understanding of entire marketing ecosystem
  • Proven ability to progress clients through the Content Marketing Continuum
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze issues and develop relevant and actionable plans, programs and recommendations
  • Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to take responsibility and consistently exceed objectives
  • Able to thrive in an entrepreneurial culture
  • Comfort with technology and the ability to discuss basic Internet technologies with clients
  • Ability to think strategically and identify and resolve problems, while maintaining a strong customer focus
  • Able to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to challenges
  • Ability to manage time around unexpected situations and/or requests and prioritize workflow by opportunity
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work across intercompany groups
  • Ability to build partnerships and foster teamwork in a fast-paced environment

Location
 

The preferred location for this candidate is in the Boston area, to eventually work out of our Boston office in a post COVID world. We are however, open to qualified candidates outside of Massachusetts who would work remotely from their home.
